

About Our CEO
Mrs. Mary R. Baldwin has had an extensive career in professional nursing. She worked for more than fifty years in various positions in the healthcare industry. Her most noted accomplishment was serving as the Director of Nursing at Lincoln Community Health Center, a positon she held for more than twenty years.

She came full circle when she returned to the grounds of her early nursing education at Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing to lead the nursing department at the center. In this role, Mrs. Baldwin directed the nursing care of more than 100,000 patients annually.. She coordinated the first prostate screening clinic and assisted in writing $600,000 in grant monies for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation and the North Carolina Central University Biotechnical Department for breast/prostate health screenings. She was committed to ensuring the best quality of health care services for low income and indigent patients in the Durham Community.

Mrs. Baldwin also worked to ensure that area nursing students had the opportunity for clinical training at the center. After retirement from the center, she continued her affiliation with the education of nursing students by serving as an adjunct clinical faculty in the Department of Nursing at North Carolina Central University and an adjunct at Duke School of Nursing. In addition to earning a diploma in nursing from Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing, Mrs. Baldwin also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Public Health Administration degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mrs. Baldwin’s expertise has been sought in numerous areas in the nursing profession including serving on task forces and serving as a presenter for continuing education seminars. She holds membership in the following professional organizations, American Nurses Association, Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing Alumni and North Carolina Central University Alumni.
Her work experience and professional activities have earned her many accolades including: “North Carolina Great 100 Excellent Nurses Award”, “North Carolina Nurses’ Association Manger of the Year Award”, “Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing Nurse of the Year Award”, “ North Carolina Central University Distinguished Alumnus Award” and “Central Carolina Black Nurses Association Distinguished Chapter Service Award”, Durham Pi Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated recognition as “Nursing Legends”, YWCA: “Women of Achievement Award”, North Carolina Primary Community Health Care Association, “Outstanding Nursing Service Award”. Mrs. Baldwin is married to Mr. Charles E. Baldwin, Sr. (57 yrs.). They have RV’d all 48 contiguous states of America, including Vancouver, Canada, and Honolulu, Hawaii. Mary has also traveled to West Africa and made presentation at the University of Ghana. They have a beautiful daughter Rev. Felicia Baldwin-Lucas, a son-the late Charles E. Baldwin, Jr. 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is a member of Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church where she is actively involved in serval ministries.
